Residential Care

Aberlea understands that the decision to live in an aged care facility is not an easy one. Aberlea management and staff are committed to providing physical and emotional support to residents and their families, commencing on admission day and continuing on each day following, to ensure residents and families are happy, and all needs are met.

Aberlea recognises that choice is important and puts the individual needs of residents' first.

The Aberlea model of care is delivered through a multidisciplinary team consisting of our Director of Care and Operations, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Personal Care Assistants and Lifestyle Officers providing 24-hour quality care. We also work closely with the following services - podiatry, physiotherapy, diabetes consultancy, hearing and vision specialists, dietary services and speech therapy to enable residents to lead an active and rewarding life.

Residents enjoy social and cultural activities, outings, and access to community events. Residents make their choices from daily menus of home cooked meals, served in the dining room or in residents' rooms if preferred.

Family and friends are encouraged to visit and enjoy the spacious living areas and beautiful gardens the facility has to offer.

We offer a wide range of services to suit your needs; along the way as your care needs change we will continue to support you by adapting the care we provide.

This helps minimise disruption and provides peace of mind for you and your family.

Also, when you become a resident at Aberlea Inc. you will have access to our in-house dietician, physiotherapist, speech therapist, diabetic educator and hearing specialist as well as daily activities and regular bus trips.

All rooms at Aberlea are priced to a maximum of $550, 000, however the cost will be negotiated on an individual basis, according to each person's financial situation.

At Aberlea Inc. Mortlake, we manage a 9-bed dementia specific unit which we call the “The Mews”.

Within this secure unit each resident has their own bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. We encourage residents and families to make these bedrooms their own by furnishing the rooms with as many familiar items as possible from home.
