Dear Aberlea Community,
I write today to provide an important update for you regarding visitation to Aberlea.
Based on the Australian Government’s “Coronavirus COVID-19 National aged care guidance visitation recommended actions by tier” document, we would like to advise you of the following changes to our visiting arrangements.
Residents are no longer limited to one visitor per day, and there is no longer a limit on the number of visits each resident can receive.
There is still a requirement for a maximum of 2 visitors at any one time per resident. The requirement for social distancing remains in place.
We ask that families to continue to liaise with each other to co-ordinate visits, this greatly assists us by ensuring that no more than 2 people arrive for a visit to a resident at one time.
Visiting hours remain at 10am – 12 noon, and 1pm-4pm daily, we thank you for your co-operation. If you would like to request a visit outside these times, please call us to discuss.
Visits are to remain in residents’ rooms or in outside areas.
Visitors are not permitted to spend time in communal areas, as per government directions.
Visitors are asked to enter and exit the facility through the main entrance (glass doors). Screening will remain in place; all visitors must continue to wear a mask however eye protection is no longer required. Flu vaccination continues to be a requirement of entry.
Kind regards,
Phil Irvine
Director of Care, Aberlea
