Aberlea Mortlake has activated its lockdown procedures after a small number of its aged care residents displayed gastro symptoms in the past 24 hours.

Resident Liaison Officer Debi McAuliffe said all visitation had now ceased until further notices.

She said families would be contacted individually if there were any concerns with their family member.

Other infection control measures undertaken include;

  • Additional clinical staffing resources in the facility
  • Close consultation with local general practitioners and medical services
  • Cessation of all communal activities
  • Additional cleaning of communal areas

Anyone with further questions should contact Ms McAuliffe directly on 0475 055 394.
